Deadly brawl in Little India: 3 men accused of rioting file assault charges

SINGAPORE – Two men, allegedly involved in a fatal brawl in Little India, are now accused of assaulting a man who was then killed by their alleged accomplice.

Pradave Shashi Kumar, 20, and Kirrthik Roshan Prem Ananth, 22, who had previously been charged with rioting, were charged with assault on September 30.

The couple and Muhammad Sajid Saleem, 22, who faces a murder charge, are accused of using a chair to beat Mr Dhinesh Vasie, 25, at Kim Sam Leng restaurant, on Verdun Road, around 4 a.m. in the morning on September 22.

Court documents did not reveal what happened next, but Sajid is the only one charged with Mr. Dhinesh’s murder.

Another man, Satish Jason Prabahas, 23, who had previously been charged with rioting, was also charged with assault on September 30.

Satish, Sajid and Kirrthik allegedly used a chair to hit another 24-year-old man in an alley on nearby Sam Leong Road that morning.

Satish and Pradave now each face two charges. They are each charged with one count of rioting and assault.

Kirrthik is currently facing two counts of assault and one count of rioting.

The men and two 24-year-old women – Nur Diyana Harun Al Rasheed and Kasthuri Kallidas Marimuthu – are accused of taking part in a riot near Verdun Road on the day of Mr Dhinessh’s murder.

Each woman was offered $30,000 bail on September 30 and their case was adjourned until October 28.
