Hedi Slimane Classic French Summer Céline SS25

Hedi Slimane Classic French Summer Céline SS25

For Céline’s Spring/Summer 2025 women’s collection, Hedi Slimane was inspired by a story of lost love after rereading Françoise Sagan’s 1965 novel, La Chamade. The latest collection, titled “Un Été Français,” was designed in May 2024 and follows a heroine who wears an all-black silk jersey paired with short bangs.

Classic prep silhouettes return in the form of pleated boarding skirt suits, crafted from lightweight summer cashmere. Other pieces include short suede summer coats embroidered with sequin-embellished twinsets, worn over a hanging pencil skirt or mini A-line skirt. Hedi finds inspiration everywhere. In 2003, the Céline designer documented the youth scene from London to Paris, from Saint-Germain to South Kensington, where he saw uptown Lolitas in babydoll dresses taking over the English concert scene.

The French summer aesthetic is highlighted with silk hanging dresses handcrafted in two-tone feathers and sequins. The summer dresses are entirely hand crocheted and embroidered with crystals and silver sequins. Céline’s delicate jewelry, including necklaces layered over sleeveless tees, complementing graphic slingbacks in exotic leathers.
