The first copies of Silent Hill 2 Remake are available more than a week before launch

Another day, another PSA: This time, it appears some stores are past the Silent Hill 2 Remake release date, and retail copies of the flagship horror game are in the wild.

While some fans were already trying to keep clips and spoilers from leaking from the officially licensed multi-hour streams, footage purportedly taken from the physical release – featuring a disc with “There was a hole here. It is gone now” were written on them, and reversible sleeves – are appearing on Reddit, as well as other social media sites.

Some of these posts have been accompanied by screenshots purportedly taken from the Remake that aren’t from any of the streams we’ve seen so far, nor are they images officially released by Konami.

While it may seem a bit redundant to warn you about spoilers for a game that’s over 20 years old, remember that for many, this will be their first opportunity to play horror for themselves.

Additionally, Bloober Team recently stated that the Remake’s runtime is double that of the original game, and the official streams we’ve seen so far demonstrate that there’s plenty of additional content and surprises …even for fans very familiar with the original game. .

Furthermore, we now know that Silent Hill 2 Remake will take up 50.5 GB on PS5. Digital pre-orderers will be able to pre-load the game up to 48 hours before release, starting October 4 at midnight for Deluxe Edition owners and midnight October 6 for the Standard Edition.

A website revealed last week in celebration of Silent Hill 2’s anniversary gave us our best clue yet that the unannounced Silent Hill game might be on the way: either a Silent Hill 4: The Room Remake or even a direct sequel to Silent Hill 4.

At first, the Silent Hill Historical Society website seems like nothing more than a simple fan service created to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Silent Hill 2 and the upcoming release of Silent Hill 2 Remake. But fans have searched the site and used its clues to piece together a new mystery.
