Suspect identified and charged with second-degree murder after killing 19-year-old in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Virginia. – The suspect in the murder of a 19-year-old in Lynchburg has been identified as Nathaniel Pridemore, 33, LPD said.

The 19-year-old was identified as Cash Guadio of Lynchburg.

Authorities say as the investigation into this incident unfolded, it was determined that a welfare check at the Pridemore residence was necessary. During a welfare check in the 1400 block of Tunbridge Road, an adult female was found deceased.

A child involved in the incident is safe and will be reunited with his family soon.

Pridemore is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bail on the following charges:

  • 2nd degree murder

  • Use of a firearm

  • Endangering a child

  • Gun discharge in town

  • Discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle

  • Careless handling

  • Criminal convicted of possession of a firearm

A man is dead and a person of interest was arrested after a shooting in Lynchburg Monday, according to LPD.

At 3:45 p.m., Lynchburg Police and the Lynchburg Fire Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Fairlea Court.

Police said an adult male was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. LPD also said a person of interest was arrested and there was no active threat to the public.
