Chennai News: Travelers using Chennai International Airport (MAA) can expect periodic flight disruptions and airspace closures from October 1 to 8 in anticipation of the Army Day celebrations. Airspace closures will occur at intervals ranging from 15 minutes to two hours, with the following times: October 1: 1:45 p.m. – 3:15 p.m., October 2: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., October 3: 10:45 a.m. -11:00 a.m., October 4: 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., October 5: 10:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., October 6: 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., October 7:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and October 8: 10:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

These closures could result in flight delays with potential lingering effects after normal operations resume, as airlines work to manage backlogs. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for updates and to plan for possible disruptions during this time.

In a tweet, Chennai Airport said, “To ensure minimum disruptions, the airport has shared a detailed schedule of these closures, ranging from 15 minutes to two hours at different intervals. We encourage passengers to stay informed by checking flight schedules and contacting their airlines for the latest information.
