Columbus jury convicts man in 2022 murder case

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – A Columbus jury has returned a guilty verdict in the murder trial of Jamez Starr.

Starr was convicted of murder, malice murder and aggravated assault in the death of Jaelon Langley.

The fatal shooting occurred at a home in King’s Mountain Court over Labor Day weekend in 2022.

The jury deliberated for 45 minutes before making its decision. Starr is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 7.
