Julianne Hough applauds after bikini video sparks fan concern

Julianne Hough has set the record straight after a recent video of her in a bikini led some fans to express their “concern” for her.

“I don’t usually address comments like this, but I’m going to say a few things about this video,” Hough, 36, began in a series of Instagram Stories on Monday, September 30. Before addressing specific comments about his body, the Dancing with the stars the co-host detailed the self-care routine she was documenting.

“Trampoline was a new try for me today at my friends house – it’s their routine – sauna, cold plunge, jumping – it’s for your lymphatic system which promotes lymphatic drainage which helps protect the body from disease and infections,” she explained. “Being in a bikini is the best outfit for these activities, especially in this order.”

Hough then slammed speculation about her appearance in the clip, which she originally shared on Sunday, September 29.

“My body has never been healthier – I was full of inflammation in my 20s and had an autoimmunity marker that I addressed and committed to over years ago. ‘a year and a half,’ she wrote. “I have frozen my eggs for the last few years, which also changes body fluctuations. I have never been healthier or happier from the inside out. Grief, loss. Sadness and fear are also stored in the body and we retain them in different ways. I have made accepting, expressing, processing and releasing many emotions over the years a top priority.

Hough also addressed his behavior, saying, “This playful side of me is the most authentic version. I saw somewhere that when kids are the most playful and can be the strangest and weirdest versions of themselves, that means they are the safest to do so. My playful, goofy side reflects how secure I feel in my own skin and with the people around me. Everyone who is close to me knows that this aspect of me means I am the most free to judge myself and others.

The professional dancer concluded by telling fans that she has no plans to do anything differently in the future.

“I will continue to feel safe despite your comments and enjoy life which can be very heavy and difficult,” she wrote. “So why not be playful, laugh and enjoy the journey instead of taking everything so seriously.”

Hough followed up her message with a series of throwback videos that showed off her “playful side.” Of a 2017 clip, she wrote: “Guys, I’ve always been this weird.”

In a subsequent new video, she repeated some of the points she made in her written message. “I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m very healthy,” she told viewers. “I’ve actually never been healthier. But thank you for your concern, and I love sauna, cold diving, lymphatic drainage, working out and dancing and I have love in my life with (my dog) Sunny girl. I am very happy, but thank you for your concern.

Hough also shared a final video aimed specifically at body shamers. “And for those who tell me to eat a cheeseburger… It was September 17th, the premiere date of DWTS! she wrote on the clip, which showed her eating a burger.

Hough previously said she was humiliated on a film set, although she didn’t divulge the name of the project.

“I was very accepting of myself growing up, and then something changed in middle school,” she said. Red Book in December 2017. “I compared myself to everyone…and later I made a movie where I was basically told I was fat every day, when I was the skinniest I ever been. Now, when I’m embarrassed, I do something crazy or wacky to get out of my head – something fun that reminds me of the freedom I felt as a kid before all this happened.
