Otsego County murder victim identified, investigation ongoing

OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) — The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man who was murdered last week.

On Sept. 25, Michigan State Police officers and troopers responded to a residence in Hayes Township after a report of an “unresponsive male,” the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The man, who was a forensic pathologist the investigator said he was murderedwas identified as 31-year-old Dean Padgett.

An investigation into the murder is underway.
