Everything you need to know about UAE airline flight cancellations

Several flights are canceled across the United Arab Emirates to Iraq, Iran and Jordan.

The current political unrest in the Middle East has led to several flight cancellations on UAE airlines including Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai, Air Arabia and many more!

Dubai’s flagship airline, Emirates, announced on Wednesday and Thursday the cancellation of its flights to Iraq, Iran and Jordan due to “regional unrest”. A statement published on the Emirates website confirmed the cancellation of all flights to/from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran (Tehran) and Jordan (Amman) on 2 and October 3.

Emirates says customers transiting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq, Iran and Jordan will not be accepted for travel to their point of origin until further notice.

Flights include –

EK 837/838 Dubai-Bahrain-Dubai

EK855/86 Dubai-Kuwait-Dubai

EK31/32 Dubai-London Heathrow-Dubai

EK866/867 Dubai‑Muscat‑Dubai

Citing similar reasons, Flydubai also announced the cancellation of its flights to Jordan, Iraq, Israel and Iran on the same days. Affected customers are advised to contact their reservation agents for alternative travel options or contact the airline if they have booked directly with them.

On Tuesday, a flydubai spokesperson confirmed that flydubai flights FZ 143 to Amman International Airport (AMM) and FZ 157 to Ankara International Airport (ESB) had returned to Dubai .

flydubai FZ 728 From Istanbul International Airport (IST) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) is back to Istanbul. With the exception of Bandar Abbas, Kish and Lar, passengers connecting to other destinations will not be accepted for the rest of their journey.

In Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways announced on Wednesday that it would reroute a number of its flights in response to airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East. According to an article in The National, the carrier announced Wednesday morning that it was canceling its flight to Tel Aviv on Wednesday, October 2.

The affected flights are EY593 from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv and EY594 from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi. The airline also previously told The National that its services to Beirut would remain canceled until October 8. The flights affected are EY535 and EY538.

Sharjah-based Air Arabia has so far issued a statement extending the cancellation of its services to Beirut from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. However, there is no news on the progress of flights to other affected regions.
