Four people appear in court after stabbings in Norwich

Four people accused of fatally stabbing a man found eight days after his death have appeared at Norwich Crown Court.

Kalvin Taylor, 19, was stabbed at a flat in Lefroy Road, Mile Cross, Norwich. His body was discovered by police on September 21.

Leon Bangura, 20, from London, Adam Dugdale, 55, and Carrie-Ann Hall, 51, both from Norwich, have been charged with murder. Matthew Holmes, 51, of Norwich, was charged with assisting an offender.

All defendants have confirmed their identities, but none have pleaded guilty. The trial date has been set for April 28.

Chris Youell, prosecuting, stressed the need for a trial over Mr Taylor’s death and added: “The background appears to be drugs.”

Mr Youell compared the case to the murder trial of Joe Dix – who was killed in a drug-related assault in January 2022. He suggested the court allow three to four weeks for the trial.

Mr Holmes was released on bail on conditions including living at an address in Bowthorpe and observing a curfew.

The other three defendants made no application for bail and each was remanded in custody at an earlier hearing.
