Canadian man caught with stolen guns in Kentucky, KSP says

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Canadian man is facing weapons charges after being arrested by Kentucky State Police.

On September 25, 20-year-old KyShawn Maxwell of Ontario, Canada, was arrested on I-75 in Madison County.

KSP says troopers were conducting a traffic stop when they said they observed evidence of criminal activity.

While searching the vehicle, KSP says troopers discovered 39 handguns and four rifles inside the car.

KSP says further investigation found six of the weapons were reported stolen, and three of the handguns were converted to fully automatic.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and the United States Attorney’s Office will assist KSP in continuing this investigation.

Maxwell is charged with receiving stolen firearms.
