JACKSON, Tenn. – A local man is convicted in a murder case more than three years old.

According to a release from the office of District Attorney General Jody Pickens of the 26th Judicial District, Randall Lee Rose, 61, pleaded guilty Tuesday to the first-degree murder of Mary Linda Kelly.

In September 2021, Jackson police officers responded to a report of a woman being assaulted at a residence on Hollywood Drive.
Officers arrived on scene, where they found Kelly lying on the ground with severe lacerations to her body and head.
EMS responded to the scene and transported Kelly to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Rose was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by the Tennessee Department of Corrections.
