Don Mancini reassures fans: “Chucky will return” following the cancellation of the series after 3 seasons on SyFy

According to Deadline, the horror series based on the iconic Child’s play franchise, will not return for a fourth season.

Mancini had planned a fourth season, which sparked a fan-led #RenewChucky campaign.

In April, Mancini revealed he had pitched a fourth season, saying, “It’s something I really love doing.”

However, despite fans’ efforts, the channel decided not to move forward.

Mancini expressed his disappointment, saying he was heartbroken but grateful for the three seasons they produced.

He said in a statement: “I’m heartbroken to learn that Chucky won’t be returning for a fourth season, but I’m so grateful for the three killer years we’ve had.”

“I’d like to thank UCP/Syfy/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our amazing Toronto-based cast and crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our incredible fans, a big bloody hug.”

The Chucky The series premiered in 2021 and quickly gained a dedicated fanbase, praised for its ability to maintain the spirit of the films while exploring new storylines.

The series centers on the famous killer doll, Chucky, as he embarks on violent and terrifying adventures.

Throughout the series, Chucky confronts old enemies, reconnects with old allies, and hunts new victims, all while spreading fear and chaos.

The series brought back iconic characters from the Child’s play films, including Brad Dourif reprising his role as the voice of Chucky, and featured original cast members like Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany) and Fiona Dourif.

It also introduced a new generation of characters facing Chucky’s reign of terror.
