Man convicted in Pulaski Co. murder case

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A judge sentenced a southern Kentucky man to a decade in prison for the death of LeeAnna Brumley.

Gerald Hendricks was initially charged with murder and tampering with evidence, but he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence and four counts of kidnapping earlier this week.

Authorities said Brumley went missing in May 2019. Her remains were found six months later.

Police said she was shot, hit in the head with a hatchet and set on fire.

On Sunday, we told you about another suspect, Danelle Powell.

We incorrectly reported that she still faced a murder charge in this case. She took a plea deal in 2022 for the lesser charge of second-degree manslaughter.

She reportedly told police she was forced to kill Brumley.

Powell is expected to be back in court in January.
