Garbage catches fire in garbage truck in Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, CT (WFSB) – Trash caught fire in the back of a garbage truck in Wethersfield Thursday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to Dix Road.

They said the driver threw the burning trash into the street, which protected the truck.

Firefighters extinguished the burning debris.

There were no injuries and the truck was not damaged, they said.

The city’s physical department helped the waste disposal company clean the road.
