Bruce Springsteen adds a pointed twist to his support for Kamala Harris

Rock god Bruce Springsteen framed his support for Kamala Harris for president a little differently on Thursday. (Watch the clip below.)

In a video he shared on Instagram, the “Born to Run” singer said, “I support Kamala Harris for president and Tim Walz for vice president. and oppose Donald Trump and JD Vance.”

Leave it to the Boss to add a line of protest to his statement.

Springsteen delivered his popular speech at a restaurant, calling the election one of the most “important” in history.

“Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as divided politically, spiritually and emotionally as it does now,” Springsteen said. “It doesn’t have to be this way.”

The 20-time Grammy Award winner compared the Democratic nominee’s outlook to his own.

“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, political viewpoint or sexual identity,” he said. declared. “This is the vision of America that I have written about constantly for 55 years.”

He called Trump “the most dangerous presidential candidate of my lifetime,” emphasizing that “his disregard for the sanctity of our Constitution” should disqualify him from office. “He doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American.”

The singer’s Democratic allegiance was predictable. He narrated a 2020 campaign ad for eventual winner Joe Biden, hosted a podcast with former President Barack Obama in 2021, and expressed disdain for Trump and other prominent Republicans during a 2021 appearance on “The Late Show.”

“Do you want Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Ron DeSantis and our fearless ex-leader to decide the fate of the American experiment?” he asked host Stephen Colbert.
