Town of Denison ready to celebrate its annual fall festival

DENISON, Texas (KXII) – Even if it doesn’t feel like fall yet, the Denison Fall Festival is here to kick off the season.

“The Denison Fall Festival is the largest festival in the region,” said Diana Theall, president and CEO of the Denison Chamber of Commerce.

For nearly four decades, thousands of Texomans have flocked to downtown Denison for live music, games and everything in between, and this year it will be the biggest event ever.

“We’re expecting a record crowd,” Theall said. “We had about 35 or 40,000 last year, and we’re hoping for at least that this year.”

This year it expanded all along Main Street, from the 100 block to the 800 block.

“There are of course a lot of sellers in the middle. All of our businesses are,” Theall said. “Our restaurants are open, but we also have our entertainment back at Heritage in Heritage Park, as we always do.

A perfect event for the whole family, it takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“A lot of people don’t realize that Denison is an arts and culture district, so you can buy a cup of beer and walk down the street or a glass of wine.” » said everyone. “There’s something for adults if they want it, but we also have all sorts of things for kids. There’s lemonade and snow cones and whatever, it’s over there.

It’s also a great way to give a boost to local businesses as the holidays approach.

“We have great restaurants and bars, and it’s just a thriving community,” Theall said. “When we can get all these new people down, then they will come back to shop, and that means everything to these merchants.”
