Packers vs Rams Livestream: How to Watch NFL Week 5 Online Today

The Packers got off to a slow start in Week 4, falling behind 28-7 at halftime to their rival Vikings. A furious fourth-quarter rally made things interesting, but ultimately the gap was too big for Jordan Love and co. to get out of it. On Sunday, they will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams.

The Rams enter this week’s contest still in great shape and coming off a tough Week 4 loss to the Bears in Chicago. Star receiver Cooper Kupp was ruled out Monday for this weekend’s game.

Kickoff in California is set for 1:25 p.m. PT (4:25 p.m. ET) on CBS. Here’s how you can watch, even if the game isn’t available on your local CBS channel.

The game will be broadcast on television in the Los Angeles and Green Bay areas (according to 506 Sports) and on live TV broadcast services, but it may happen that you are blocked due to an Internet location problem. There is one option that doesn’t require subscribing to something like NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Plus or searching the Internet for a sketchy website: you can use a Virtual Private Network.

Here’s how to watch the game from anywhere in the US with a VPN.

How to watch the Packers vs. Rams game online from anywhere using a VPN

If you are unable to view the game locally due to poorly enforced ban restrictionsyou may need a different way to watch the game and that’s where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to prevent your ISP from throttling your speed on game day by encrypting your traffic. Plus, it’s a great idea when you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and connections.

With a VPN, you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to access the game. So if your Internet Service Provider or cell phone carrier has assigned you an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct this problem by giving you an IP address in your correct and unobscured zone. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPNmake it really easy to do.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in all countries where VPNs are legal, including the United States and Canada, provided you have a legitimate subscription to the service you are streaming . You need to make sure your VPN is properly configured to prevent leaks: Even when VPNs are legal, the streaming service can terminate the account of anyone it considers to be circumventing properly enforced ban restrictions.

How to watch the Packers vs. Rams game in the United States

This week’s Packers-Rams game is on CBS, so in addition to a VPN, you’ll need one live TV streaming service which broadcasts a local CBS affiliate that broadcasts the game. The good news for football fans is that CBS is available on most major streaming services. The cheapest option is Paramount Plus.

Those looking for CBS Sunday games will be able to stream them on Paramount Plus with its $8 per month Essentials tier. You can check for yourself if your area is streaming live CBS here.

Many other live TV streaming services also carry local CBS stations, namely YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream, and Fubo. They all cost significantly more than Paramount Plus, but they also stream many live channels, including football broadcast channels like Fox and ESPN. Check out our guide to live TV streaming services for more details.

If you live in an area where the game is broadcast, an over-the-air antenna connected to your TV provides another option for CBS. The best part about antennas is that no streaming or monthly fees are required, but you will need to make sure you have good reception.

Quick Tips for Streaming the Packers vs. Rams using a VPN

  • With four variables in play: your ISP, your browser, your video streaming provider, and your VPN – experience and success may vary.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as the default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “Find city or country” option.
  • If you’re having trouble getting the game after enabling your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log in to your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. Otherwise, you may need to change the physical address registered with your account. Second, some smart TVs, like Roku, don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct display location.
  • All the VPN providers we recommend offer helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with Smart TV services, after installing a cable network’s sports app, you will be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your Smart TV . This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember that browsers can often give away location despite using a VPN, so be sure to use a privacy-focused browser to connect to your services. We normally recommend Brave.
