The firm said it’ll share social media updates on where and when it will open.

But it later emerged it was not official, with the people behind it confirming they bought the goods in Hawaii and brought them back to Australia to sell.

They said they were just “fans” of the brand, though some shoppers said they were duped.

The cookies usually cost around $6, but were being sold for $17.50 each.

Last month, hundreds of cake fans lined up in Bondi to buy Crumbl cookies, with a pop-up shop promoted on Instagram and Tiktok. (TikTok)

Lawyers claimed they “don’t have a leg to stand on” if the company takes action.

The company, which is a franchise, was founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, by Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley.

It has 1000 stores in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
