Silent Hill 2 Remake Wikipedia page locked after salty fans attempt to rewrite its critically acclaimed reception

Wikipedia had to lock the Silent Hill 2 Remake page after repeated acts of vandalism from editors refusing to accept the critically acclaimed remake of Konami’s flagship horror game earlier this week.

Outright lies surrounding the game’s reception and metacritic score – including an edit saying the game had “received the worst reviews imaginable” – mean the page has now been placed in a semi-protected state to prevent Unregistered users make wild and unsubstantiated claims. including one that said Eurogamer gave it 0/5 stars when in fact it got top marks.

It’s unclear what exactly is driving the changes, though some speculate that they were fueled by the nauseating talk that the game is “woke” due to changes to characters’ facial features and clothing.

Alternatively, this may stem from some fans’ dismay that Silent Hill 2 was remade by Bloober Team, if at all.

While it’s still early and the only people who’ve gotten their hands on the game so far have delved into the deluxe edition that came with early access – which can naturally lead to a positive bias – Silent Hill 2 Remake is sitting on an “overwhelmingly positive” User Score on Steam as well.
