Donnie Wahlberg‘s brother, Chef Paul Wahlbergcelebrates the final episodes of Blue Bloods by sharing some recipes inspired by the hit CBS series with fans.

In We weekly‘S exclusive clip of Chef Paul’s latest creation, he showed how to make a meatloaf, Red Bliss mashed potatoes with sour cream and horseradish, carrots and green beans with lemon, garlic and rosemary.

“Growing up, that was one of our favorites because of that wonderful smell and it always came with mashed potatoes,” says chef Paul, 60, who Donnie, 55, and Mark Wahlberg‘s brotherexplained in the video on how to make an ‘elevated’ version of a classic meatloaf with bacon. “The first time I saw this was when my mother had done this. It’s just one of those things that we’re really excited about. Bacon makes everything tastier.”

Chef Paul used the lessons he learned as a child in the kitchen to inspire his own recipe.

“When we were kids, it was tomato sauce or ketchup that covered the outer sauce of the meatloaf,” he noted. “And that’s the great thing about coming home to a kitchen where food is being cooked. It smells like dinner. There are certain vegetables that I smell while cooking that remind me of my childhood.”

Chef Paul and Wahlburgers have given viewers the opportunity to recreate meals based on Reagan’s family dinners. There will be a total of eight recipes in each episode to coincide with a Sunday dinner Blue Bloods‘last season.

Blue Bloodswhich premiered in 2010, follows the lives of the Reagan family, Many of them work for the NYPD the leadership of New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Frank’s father, Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), in addition to Frank’s children, the show also featured: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and sons Danny (Donnie) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).

“Four years ago we sat in this room and none of us knew if we would ever see each other again, for even worse reasons. Maybe one of the worst days of my life, and I’m sure it will happen in many of your lives,” Donnie said referring to the COVID pandemic in a video CBS shared in August from the final day of filming. “We didn’t know what was going to happen in this world, and somehow we got a few more years together and God willing, we get some more time together to do something magical again. I would be honored to work with any of you again and I pray that that can happen somehow. I won’t give up trying. Let’s have a great night together, we deserve it.
