Giant telecommunications company Safaricom has declared several vacancies and urged qualified Kenyans to apply.

The company, listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE), directly and indirectly provides more than one million jobs.

Safaricom announced the vacancies on its website on Monday, October 14, asking interested candidates to submit their applications through its recruitment portal.

“If you think you are up to the challenge and have the necessary qualifications and experience, update your candidate profile on the recruitment portal and click the apply button. Remember to attach your CV,” the ad states.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 18th to 21st.

What jobs has Safaricom advertised?

1. RAN Optimization Engineer – Coastal Region

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or telecommunications engineering.
• Experience in data science and coding.
• Working knowledge of using any radio planning and nominal cell planning tool.

2. Service development and activation engineer

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to engineering, computer science, telecommunications, IT, electrical, etc.
• More than four years of experience in implementing and integrating networks for large companies or service providers.

3. Enterprise Network Programmability Engineer

Requirements:

• Degree in telecommunications, engineering, physics, mathematics or any other relevant qualification.
• Two years of technical support experience and at least one year of technical support management experience.

4. Engineer – Planning and evolution of the VAS system

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering/electrical and electronic engineering/computer science/IT.
• Three years of experience in a busy telecom/IT or software engineering environment with good knowledge of developing VAS solutions including messaging, voice, video and IOT.

5. Manager – experiences

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• More than four years of proven experience in brand management with a strong focus on experiential marketing, sponsorship and event management.

6. IP Planning Engineer

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, electrical or telecommunications engineering.
• In-depth understanding of systems i.e. Linux, cloud operations, DevOps tools and methodologies.

7. Financial Controller

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in accounting, economics or finance.
• CPA(K) or equivalent qualification or postgraduate degree.
