Curaleaf Offers Politically Inspired Marijuana Strains Named After Presidential Candidates

A chain of marijuana dispensaries in Arizona is offering election-themed marijuana strains representing the Democratic, Republican and Green Party candidates for president.

Curaleaf, the dispensary, calls it the ‘Toke the Vote’ campaign.

The elections are three weeks away.

“This is a fun industry and we try to have as much fun with it as possible from a design standpoint,” said Curaleaf representative Luke Flood.

The chain is selling three election-themed marijuana strains: Kamala Kush for Vice President Harris, Donald OG for former President Trump, and Space Jill for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

“We have 14 of our 16 stores in the Phoenix metro area. All (strains) are $30 an eighth, so all prices are consistent across the three strains,” Flood said.

Flood says all three have slightly different THC content and flavor.

“So all three are testing right now at around 29.5%. We want it to be a relatively clean slate and with them all being a hybrid domain, it depends on the palette, the flavor profile side of things, but overall people will would refer to you know, the flavor profile, being a little more earthy, cheesy, potentially spicy,” he said.

For those high on Harris, smoking weed on Donald or stoned on Stein, they may be wondering how the strains are selling so far?

“Right now, it seems like a pretty close call between Donald OG and Kamala Kush,” says Flood.

Curaleaf says the products will be available at all 16 locations in Arizona by Election Day, November 5th.
