Mount Pleasant police officers rescue woman from fiery crash

Mt. PLEASANT, Mich. (WILX) – Newly released bodycam footage shows Mount Pleasant police officers braving the heat and rescuing a woman from a large car fire earlier this week.

On Sunday, October 27 at 9:55 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police Department officers were dispatched to a rollover accident on North Mission Rd. There, police found a car on its side, with flames coming from the rear.

The flames quickly spread and engulfed the car as police smashed the windshield and rescued the driver.

The driver, a 22-year-old Sterling Heights woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. There was no one else in the car.
