Houston Crime: Westbury HS Assistant Principal Accused of Sexual Assault on 20-Year-Old Former Student

An assistant principal at Westbury High School is being accused of sexual assault, according to court documents.

Court documents state that Bryan Tigner, 36, was involved in an incident on or about September 27th.

Documents state Houston police spoke with the victim, a 20-year-old man and former student, after the incident on City Park Central Lane.

According to the report, the victim told police he went to Tigner’s apartment to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana.

Authorities said that throughout the night Tigner and the victim drank shots of tequila and smoked marijuana.

Court documents state the victim told police he fell asleep on the couch. The victim stated that he was woken up around 4 am with the feeling that someone was performing a sexual act on him.

The victim stated that he was scared by what happened and hit Tigner in the face in self-defense. The victim added that she did not consent to any sexual acts by Tigner.

Documents say the victim ordered Tigner to call an Uber to take him home, where he called 911.

An examination was completed on the victim and it was determined that the injuries were consistent with the victim’s statements, court documents state.

Police later spoke with Tigner, who gave a voluntary statement about the incident. Tigner stated that he began “hanging out” with the victim about six months earlier.

Tigner told authorities he ordered an Uber to take the victim to his apartment, where they were drinking tequila and smoking marijuana, court documents revealed.

Tigner stated that the victim approached him on the couch, which made him believe the victim wanted intimacy.

After the alleged incident, Tigner told authorities the victim asked Tigner for $150, which he said he would not pay.

Authorities said during the argument with Tigner they saw a red/purple bruise and swelling under his left eye.

When authorities asked how he got the bruises, Tigner claimed he was injured during a fight at school that occurred the day before in a video that was provided to authorities.

Authorities noted in the report that Tigner was not struck in the video provided.

Authorities also asked Tigner if there was any type of physical altercation with the victim, to which Tigner initially said no. However, Tiger later told authorities that the victim slapped him before leaving his apartment.

Court documents added, after a search and seizure of Tigner’s cell phone, which was consented to by Tigner, they found a photograph with location listed as Westbury High School and time stamped, September 26, at 6:11 p.m. In the photo, authorities said they did not see any injuries to his face or left eye.

Bail for Tigner was set at $75,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 8.

FOX 26 reached out to Houston ISD for a statement on Tigner. They said, “HISD cannot comment on the status of any specific personnel matter or investigation. However, the District is aware of the incident and is cooperating with law enforcement authorities. It is standard practice for any employee accused of a crime to be removed from campus while the outcome of the investigation is awaited.”
