How to get the dog to finish

THE Silent Hill 2 The remake captured what made the original version a success many years ago. Although the story remains the same, it follows James returning to the mysterious town of Silent Hill in search of Mary, his deceased wife. The game’s developers got creative and added some alternate endings for New Game Plus.

Players will have full authority over how they want to play and their actions will dictate how the story ends. After the initial game, players can restart the entire story from scratch to unlock some secret endings, and some are downright hilarious, like the Dog’s ending.

The game developers have added some extra secret endings in this version of Silent Hill 2.

Bloober Team didn’t hold back on this remake and took full advantage of Unreal Engine 5 to deliver what the original developers envisioned for this game many years ago. The gaming community felt a touch of nostalgia after playing the game once and can go for a second spin with New Game Plus.

The developers added some extra endings exclusive to New Game Plus and brought back Dog’s hilarious ending. While most other endings are much darker and have deeper implications, the Dog’s ending is the exact opposite. First, players must acquire some broken key parts, including a dog’s paw in Eastern South Vale, inside the Pet Center near Big Jay’s.

Tip

James will have to explore Big Jay’s before Katz Street.

Another important part, the bone symbol, can be found on Katz Street in Western South Vale. The game’s developers left an obvious sign for where to find this piece near a white gate around an abandoned neighborhood with a bone symbol. Once both broken pieces are in James’ inventory, they can be combined into a Dog Key.

Players will go to the Lakeview Hotel and find the locked door to the Observation Room instead of Room 312. Players can trigger the Dog’s ending by opening the door with the combination key. James thought he might finally meet the person who tormented his entire journey, but he would be surprised to see a dog pulling the strings from the beginning.

The dog’s ending is the much happier and funnier ending of the Silent Hill 2 remake

Dog’s ending is much more anticlimactic than other New Game Plus endings from Silent Hill 2.

Players will notice that this ending is played for laughs and is nothing compared to the great darker and more threatening outcomes, such as the end of the Renaissance. James Sunderland is a man looking for a way to overcome his past sins and answers to end his suffering, but this ending is more of an insult than a direct answer.

The Dog’s ending suggests that a dog was behind the whole charade with a humorous tone as the credits begin to roll with cheesy background music and dog barks. This is a nice change of pace from the horror element the game is known for, and a chore for trophy hunters.

James will fall to his knees when he realizes that the mentor is an adorable furry puppy and will speak to him in Polish. It’s worth noting that this is a nice callback to the fact that Bloober Team’s game developers are based in Poland.

While most players debate what the canonical ending is, it largely depends on your actions throughout the story. Players will either find this ending funny or a huge waste of time and an insult to James Sunderland’s suffering.

However, having a few options to end a story implies that Konami and Bloober Team wanted players to create their own experience rather than be tied to a fixed plot.
