Jonas Brothers show was interrupted after laser pointer shined on Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas left the stage after being hit by a laser in the middle of the band’s show

The Jonas Brothers’ concert in Prague last night, October 15, was interrupted for several minutes after someone pointed a laser at Nick Jonas while he was on stage.

A partial video of the incident shared on social media showed Nick looking at the crowd from a piano, then quickly standing up, signaling the timeout with his hands and walking off stage. Brothers Joe and Kevin reportedly followed him and the show was stopped when the issue was resolved.

A representative of the O2 Arena in Prague issued a statement to Varietysaying: “We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the person’s use of a prohibited laser pointer. The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”

A representative for the Jonas Brothers did not immediately get back to Rolling Stonerequest for comment.

Nick’s reaction to the laser pointer comes at a time of increased focus on safety on the show. Last month, Green Day were quickly removed from the stage during their concert in Detroit after an unauthorized drone was spotted above the venue. And in August, Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna was canceled after authorities arrested two men accused of planning to carry out a terrorist attack at several locations in the city.

Tendencies

Recent years have also seen an increase in strange and sometimes violent public behavior. Fans began throwing objects at the performers on stage (from phones to cremated ashes) or even breaking the stage and hitting the performers.

As for the Jonas Brothers, they are wrapping up some rescheduled European dates on their “Five Albums, One Night” tour. Their last show is scheduled to take place tonight, October 16th, in Krakow, Poland.
