Delhi Metro announces revision of train timings for Diwali, check details

According to the DMRC, the last metro train on all lines, including the Airport Express line, will depart from the terminal stations on October 31 at 10 pm.

Ahead of Diwali, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced a change in metro timings for October 31. On this day, the last metro train leaves at 10:00 PM from the terminal stations on all lines, including the Airport Express line. Normally the metro services run until 11 p.m., but the timing has been adjusted due to the festival.

To manage the festive rush, the DMRC has added 60 extra metro rides on October 29 and 30. This will help reduce traffic congestion as people travel for Diwali shopping and celebrations. DMRC encouraged people to use the metro to avoid traffic and reduce pollution. “Whether you are going to markets, visiting family or exploring the city, make your festive journey smooth and eco-friendly by choosing the Metro,” DMRC said.

As people flooded the markets for Diwali shopping, traffic jams were reported in several areas including Badarpur Flyover, CV Raman Marg, Punjabi Bagh and Ashram.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, Delhi Police has deployed personnel with loudspeakers on motorcycles to manage traffic congestion and keep busy roads clear. Non-targeted vehicles are not allowed to enter Delhi and parking guidelines have been issued to shoppers to avoid blocking of roads.
