Halloween takes place on October 31st Scorpio seasona time of year that is astrologically considered ‘intense’ due to the corresponding energy of the zodiac sign that the ‘dark sides of life.”

According to PEOPLE’s resident astrologer Kyle Thomas, Scorpio energy is often described as “moody” and “insistent.” That’s why the weeks before Halloween and… the day on which the holiday is celebrated allowing ‘the dark sides’ of humanity to be explored.

Scorpio season “brings an extra eerie feeling into our lives and into the human collective,” Thomas says, adding that there are “very special energies” that will likely be felt as a result. The planets explain why.

Mercury (our planet of the mind) will transit Scorpio on October 31 and oppose Uranus (the planet of chaos). As a result, Thomas says that “a multitude of twists and turns can occur in our lives, involving sudden events, surprises, or even accidents,” noting that it is “best to go with the flow.”

On Halloween day, Mercury connects with Neptune (the planet of spirituality and imagination), which Thomas says is “a… enchanting and enchanting atmosphere about our lives” and further enhance the “spooky feeling”.

“We can expect even a more poetic and magical atmosphere to percolate throughout,” says Thomas. Finally, the moon will be in Gemini, which he says will “bring a festive, social atmosphere for us to enjoy!”

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

Local haunts will be top of mind this Halloween, Ram! “You might connect with a lot of neighbors, friends or siblings this year… and you might especially want to meet up in familiar places,” says Thomas.

On a separate note, Thomas predicts that “your intuition will speak in profound riddles at this time,” so “pay attention to any creepy messages being channeled to you.”

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

Candy is guaranteed on Halloween, Taurusbut you will also long for a sweetheart! “There is a big emphasis on key partnerships for you this year,” Thomas explains.

“You could make plans with your partner or best friend,” he says, like maybe making a couples costume with the best friend! If you’re single, he says, “You might meet someone who becomes a long-term partner” or “realize that someone in your network is actually the perfect match.”

Elsewhere in his forecast, Thomas predicts that you’ll likely spend quite a bit of money this year. It could be at a “luxury event or just costume supplies.”

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Prepare to feel all the feels, Twinalmost as if you are under a spell! “You’ll be deep in your emotions this Halloween,” predicts Thomas.

“Fortunately, you’re probably feeling quite excited, optimistic and eager for new beginnings,” he says. “This is a special time to really hone in on your feelings and trust the flow.”

If you’re feeling social, Thomas says, “get out there!” But if you’re not in the mood, he assures that “it’s okay to rest and recharge and have a nice evening at home with the ones you love, and celebrate with some scary movies and apple cider.”

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

Eerie silence is not an option for you this Halloween, Cancer! You feel ‘a longing for all kinds of fun’, says Thomas.

While he predicts that you’ll receive “several invitations from your friends and loved ones,” he says you might also notice “a sudden change” in your plans out of the blue. This could be in the form of a location change, event cancellation, or a new party popping up out of nowhere.

Whatever it may be, Thomas says, “Let go and have fun!” You’re feeling particularly “romantic and creative” this year, he notes, so open up to the atmosphere and make the most of it. “Singles have a little extra luck when they meet someone who ignites their sexy spark.”

Leo (July 23 to August 22)

Enjoy that midnight moon glow, Lion! Thomas says that “you’ll feel as popular as ever this Halloween,” and that you’ll likely be combining “two big” events.

No fear! Thomas says you don’t have to worry about making either if you plan ahead strategically. This allows you to “show off your fabulous costume” while stepping into the spotlight you crave.

On a separate note, Thomas says that you might ‘even’ organize a party yourself! It can also be as understated as a small jack-o-lantern carving or a spooky Ouija board ceremony.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22)

You’ll shine bright like a lit jack-o-lantern on Halloween, Virgin. “There are a lot of people who will pay attention to you this year,” Thomas predicts.

“Obviously, many close friends, neighbors, friends or siblings want to spend extra time hanging out and enjoying time with you,” he explains. If you’re single, Thomas says you can “start a meaningful conversation with someone who has long-term potential.”

If you ‘spontaneously’ feel like going on a trip, Thomas notes that it ‘can also be a fun opportunity’. If you go into town with your crew or a partner, he assures you that “you’ll have a great time.”

Elsewhere in his prediction, Thomas says, “You could even make a special promise this year.” In fact, it’s one that he says “could last forever.”

Libra (September 23 to October 22)

No scaredy cats allowed this Halloween, Libra! This year, Thomas says, “It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone.”

You may find yourself ‘traveling’ to new places or participating in ‘new and fresh’ activities that you haven’t experienced before. “Embrace your talent for new horizons and new opportunities,” says Thomas.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)

Find the pumpkin for your taste, Scorpio! Thomas predicts that this Halloween you’ll “crave an intimate union” with someone in body, mind and spirit.

“You will feel more social and connect more,” he says before and on October 31. “Spending it with a loved one can bring back the Halloween magic you felt when you were a kid.”

If you’re not in a relationship, Thomas says, “Singles also have a great chance of meeting someone extra special!”

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

It’s a “fang-tastic” time for partnerships, Archer! Whether you’re already connected or want to meet someone special, Thomas says, “You’re one of the luckiest zodiac signs” to take advantage of this energy.

Even if you feel the urge to lay low this year, Thomas says to “push yourself to connect with others” and predicts that “you’ll have a great time” if you do. He notes that you’ll feel especially “enchanted” if you also host a gathering at your home for friends or family!

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)

Stick around with your boo or scary crew, Ibex! Thomas says this year’s Halloween is putting “a lot of focus on your love life and friendships.”

In fact, he considers this “the perfect time to meet someone new” or “hang out with that special someone you’ve been eyeing for a while.”

If you have children, Thomas says it’s “a wonderful year” to join them in trick-or-treating and other holiday-related activities.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

Pumpkins spread the ground and passion fills the air, Aquarius! Thomas says this spooky season is a special time to “express yourself, unleash your creativity and show off your Halloween magic.”

If you want attention, Thomas predicts that “all eyes will be on you.” He adds: “Prominence, glory and a dash of fame can be on your side – so if you enter a costume competition, don’t be surprised if you win!”

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

Home is where the meeting point is, Piscesin the best possible way! Thomas says you probably want to celebrate Halloween at home or with family – and if you do, he predicts you won’t regret it!

Throw a party, cast some spells, play some games to celebrate the spooky holiday with your favorites. As you do that, Thomas says to focus on why you love the people in your life.

Thomas also notes that your intuition will be “particularly strong” this year. “Consider talking to a medium or psychic, praying to your ancestors, or playing with some tarot cards,” he says.
