Jigawa explosion: consider transporting fuel by train – Atiku to the Nigerian government

The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has tasked the Nigerian government to explore the option of transporting fuel by rail across the country.

Atiku made the call in response to the tanker truck explosion in Majiya town in Taura Local Government Area of ​​Jigawa State.

DAILY POST reports that the incident that occurred on Thursday night led to the death of more than 100 people.

Reacting, Atiku posted on

“The Jigawa incident is too much, involving tragic tanker truck explosions in the country.

“It is high time that we explore other means, such as rail transport, to transport petroleum products across the country.

“It is also pertinent to train drivers involved in the transportation of flammable products and review the protocol for the transportation of petroleum products and other flammable products.

“I wish to share my grief with the people and government of Jigawa State and call for a swift rescue and control operation. No resources should be spared in treating the injured.

“I also sympathize with the families who lost loved ones in this tragic incident and pray that they are comforted and that the deceased find eternal rest. -AA”
