Fall Wildflower Seed Sale Offer

Fall Wildflower Seed Sale Offer

PARIS — Did you know that fall is a great time to plant wildflower seeds? Many seeds will germinate better after exposure to cold and snow! Fall seeding is an easy, low-maintenance way to add color and interest to your landscape, while also supporting pollinators and birds. Unlike spring planting, fall planting does not require heavy watering or shaking. Your seeds will happily overwinter and appear in the spring or summer of next year!

Some of the benefits of seeding a wildflower garden or meadow include:

  • Colorful garden that doesn’t require much care once established
  • No kneeling, bending over and digging holes to plant
  • Attracts beneficial insects, pollinators, birds and other wildlife
  • Can fill gaps in existing lawns or meadows to add color and pollinator food
  • Can replace lawn areas to reduce the need to mow

For our fall fundraiser, we are offering a butterfly and hummingbird seed mix designed specifically to attract nectar-loving pollinators such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other native pollinators. This colorful mix will reach 3-4′ tall and includes over 30 species handpicked for the Northeast!

Our seed sale is our last fundraiser of the year. All proceeds support our education and outreach programs in Oxford County! Our Seed Order Form is available for download on our website at oxfordcountyswcd.org/native-plant-sale or by contacting OCSWCD at [email protected] or 207-744-3119. All orders must be
received by Friday, November 8, 2024.
