Hurricane Helene and Milton relief program airs on CBS, CMT

A benefit that raises money for relief efforts in the aftermath of hurricanes Helene And Milton airs Saturday evening CBS And CMTtwo divisions of Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News. The hour-long “United Way Hurricane Relief Benefit” airs at 8:00 PM ET/PT and is also streaming Paramount+ with ShowtimeParamount Global and United Way announced this on Wednesday.

The benefit will feature performances by Clay Aiken, Tyler HubbardChris Janson, Jonathan McReynolds, Carly Pearce And Brittney Spencer.

The Back Street Boys, Billy Bob ThorntonBilly Burke, Blake Shelton, Carlo the EntertainerCody Alan, Jackson Dean, JB SMOOVE, Kelsea BalleriniMax Thieriot, “CBS mornings“co-host Nate Burleson,”The late show“host Stephen Colbert, Taye Diggs and the Zac Brown Band will also perform during the show.

The benefit is intended to raise money for emergency relief and recovery after the successive storms caused great damage in the southeast in September and October, killing dozens of people.

While Milton raked over the Florida peninsula in early October, Helene moved deep inland after making landfall in late September, causing catastrophic flooding in North Carolina.

“Paramount Global and its brands are proud to partner with United Way Worldwide on the ‘United Way Benefit for Hurricane Relief’ to reach audiences across the US to help those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton ,” Melissa C. Potter, executive director of Content for Change at Paramount Global and member of the board of directors of United Way Worldwide, said in a statement.

“I have seen firsthand how United Way brings together local leaders, cross-sector partners and the community to help people in times of crisis, and the funds raised through this benefit event will help those in need recover and rebuild ” said Potter.

The benefit was taped Monday and Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee.
