University of Sheffield opens applications for master’s course in Artificial Intelligence

Registration is open at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, for the Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, starting in September 2025.

The course aims to teach students the theoretical aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and equip them with the practical skills necessary to work with large data sets.

About the course:

Students with a numeracy background (e.g. a first degree in mathematics, economics, engineering, physics or chemistry) and graduates already working in industry are encouraged to apply.

The course uses techniques developed in various disciplines, including computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics and statistics, the official website mentioned.

Eligibility Criteria:

A three/4 year bachelor’s degree with a minimum entry requirement of 60% from a recognized university in a relevant discipline.

IELTS 6.5 (with 6 in each component) or university equivalent.

Subject Requirements:

Diplomas are accepted in the following areas: Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Any Engineering discipline

The University may consider courses in Information Technology or Computing.

Course duration:

1 year full time

Assessment:

Assessment is through formal examinations, coursework and a dissertation.

75 International Postgraduate Scholarships for Teaching Merit will be offered by the university in 2025.

Each scholarship is a competitive award worth £10,000 towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate program from September 2025. The deadline for scholarship applications is 1pm (UK time) on 12th May, 2025.
