William Shatner, 93, ‘might consider’ returning as Captain Kirk in new ‘Star Trek’ project thanks to aging: ‘It takes years off your face’

William Shatner recently told the Canadian Press that he wouldn’t rule out returning as Captain Kirk in a new “Star Trek” project if the script impressed him. While the actor’s age may pose a problem since Shatner turned 93 in March, it’s nothing that aging technology can’t solve.

“It’s an intriguing idea,” Shatner said of Kirk’s return. “It’s almost impossible. But if it was a big role and so well written and if there was a reason to be there not just to make an appearance, but if there was an actual reason for the character to appear, I might consider it.

Shatner suggested he could play a younger version of the Starship Enterprise captain thanks to aging technology, in the same way that 80-year-old Harrison Ford appeared as a much younger Indiana Jones (around the character’s age in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
