Woman’s Instagram ‘hanging out’ post causes northwest Houston man to cheat, then rob

HOUSTON NO. – A woman who contacted a northwest Houston man on Instagram to come “hang out” Sunday may have set him up for a robbery.

The man told officers at Precinct 4 that when the woman arrived at his apartment at Cypresswood Drive and Lajuana Lane, a short time later, three men appeared, punched him in the stomach and held him under the threat of a weapon.

They took a bag containing his belongings, his television and his phone.

Investigators are circulating a photo of the woman from Ring camera video.

Harris County District 4 Officer Mark Herman is asking anyone who knows her or has information about the theft to contact them.
