‘Blue Bloods’ Star Tom Selleck Hopes ‘CBS Comes to Its Sense’ After Show Canceled

Tom Selleck hopes CBS reverses cancellation decision Blue blood and that viewers will be able to continue watching the series beyond its 14 seasons.

“I will continue to think that CBS will come to its senses,” Selleck said in an interview with CBS News. “We are the third most scripted show in all of broadcasting. We win the evening. The whole cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we are not sliding down a cliff. We put on good shows and always hold our place. So I do not know. You tell me!”

Selleck has starred in the CBS procedural since the series premiered in 2010, playing Commissioner Frank Reagan.

During a press conference for their fall schedule, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach reiterated Blue blood would end its run this fall after 14 seasons.

“We really want to thank the cast and crew, everyone involved in the show,” Reisenbach told reporters. “We will absolutely miss family dinners. It’s important to give the show the farewell it deserves.

Aware that the cast has asked CBS to reconsider its decision, Reisenbach said: “We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows must come to an end. It is important for us to refresh the schedule. We will finish the show in December.

Blue blood revolves around the Reagan family, who have always worked in law enforcement in New York. Selleck co-stars with Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes and Len Cariou.
