Here’s another look at Lakeside Amusement Park from Silent Hill 3 in Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite & Lumen

Here’s another look at Lakeside Amusement Park from Silent Hill 3 in Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite & Lumen

In March 2024, we shared a video featuring Lakeside Amusement Park from Silent Hill 3 in Unreal Engine 5. This project was created by artist “Da_Drood – Digital Art”. And today we can share with you another remake of this same location in UE5.

This latest project comes from YouTube’s “EverLifeZach.” To recreate this environment, EverLifeZach used both Nanite and Lumen from EU5. The artist made the new models in Blender then took most of the textures which you can see here in the Quixel library. The artist also tried to push Nanite and Lumen as much as possible, which caused the size of the project to skyrocket. According to the artist, this simple scene was approximately 100 GB.

The end result is really cool, so be sure to watch the video. It’s also interesting to compare it to the previous SH3 remake video (as both feature the same location). The first remake seems to have a better atmosphere, while this new one has better quality assets. So, I can’t really say which one is nicer. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.

For those wondering, this project was done for portfolio purposes. In other words, it’s similar to the Star Wars: Republic Commando remake that we shared yesterday. Still, some Silent Hill fans might find it cool. Not only that, but the official Silent Hill 2 remake will use Unreal Engine 5. So in a way, it will be interesting to compare it to these fan projects. Silent Hill 2 Remake will look better, I’m pretty sure, but hey… you never know.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For example, you can find faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool. A few days ago we also shared an amazing remake of Toy Story 2. Then there is this fantastic STALKER fan remake that is worth checking out. Then there’s this fantastic fan remake of STALKER that’s worth checking out. Oh, and don’t miss Grand Theft Auto 6’s fan concept in UE5; it’s quite impressive. Earlier this month, we also shared fan remakes of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and GTA 3, as well as an Uncharted fan game. We also have a fan remaster of Unreal Gold in UE5. You should also watch the full Final Fantasy 9 Remake video.

Need for Speed Carbon and Tony Hawk’s Underground also received cool remakes. And if that’s not enough, there are fan remakes for Rayman 3, Death Stranding, Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s Solitude, Grand Theft Auto 4, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Fallout 4, Resident Evil 1, Skyrim’s Winterhold and Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park. There’s also this stylized Studio Ghibli teaser for Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5. So, lots of UE5 fan remakes, no ? Well, since they’re all really cool, we suggest you give them a watch.
