Edwards is accused of fatally shooting Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54. Edwards and Catherine Nunez’s son was in the home at the time and was not injured.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Willingboro Township Acting Public Safety Director Captain Ian Bucs provided this report:

Willingboro officers were called to the home in the first block of Harrington Circle shortly after 4 a.m. on Oct. 30 for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers discovered the bodies in an upstairs bedroom. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation showed that people entered through a smashed window on the first floor. The suspected murder weapon was found outside the home.

Edwards was charged with first-degree murder, residential burglary armed with a firearm, weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.

Autopsies performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood determined that the cause of death for both victims was multiple gunshot wounds.

The prosecutor has involved several law enforcement agencies in the investigation, including the Lansdowne Police Department.
