This Italian bowl is an example of those on sale Saturday at the Middlesex County Woman’s Club clubhouse. (Contributed)

The Middlesex County Woman’s Club’s (MCWC) first-ever plant sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, just in time for Mother’s Day!

The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the MCWC club grounds at 210 Virginia St., Urbanna, the Colonial Courthouse. They will have outdoor and indoor plants, perennials and flowering plants like zinnias, lemon balm, liriope and hellebore; herbs like oregano and Solomon’s seal; and houseplants like jade, aloe and Christmas/Easter cacti. There will also be many other varieties of plants and shrubs.

All profits are donated to finance:

  • The care and maintenance of the historic MCWC clubhouse, which served as Middlesex County’s first courthouse and is on both the National and Virginia Historic Registers.
  • MCWC Community Support Programs.
  • Scholarships for Middlesex County Students.

Plus, the MCWC Treasure Trove is included in the fun. MCWC members are busy deciding which treasures they are willing to part with. They hope to see you on May 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
