Powys train crash: Emergency services called and road closed

Emergency services are at the scene of a train crash in Powys.

Transport for Wales said “an operational incident” means lines between Machynlleth and Caersws are blocked.

Dyfed-Powys Police closed the main A470 road at Talerddig and advised motorists to avoid the area.

Residents reported a large presence of emergency services, including road ambulances and an air ambulance.

A coast guard helicopter is also at the scene, as are firefighters.
