Houston police say Brandy R. Brown left her 3-year-old baby in the car to get a drink at the bar. While she was gone, the car was towed with the baby inside.

Police say it happened around 12:20 a.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Wheeler.

They say the tow truck driver came to tow an illegally parked Acura. The District Attorney’s Office explained that tow truck drivers often tow the car down the road before fully securing it to avoid confrontations and that is what happened here.

They say the driver drove down the road and while working to secure the vehicle, he noticed a child in the car and called authorities.
