PHOENIX — Authorities Friday asked the public for help solving a deadly shooting in Phoenix.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered to anyone who can help Phoenix police find the killer of William Ray White, 40, on Sunday.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. at a business complex near McDowell Road and 43rd Avenue.

White was walking behind a shopping complex in the area when the suspect approached him while he was riding a white bicycle. He then pulled out a handgun and shot White, the police said.

Police arrived on the scene around 10 p.m. Although Phoenix firefighters attempted to save him, White was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police share photos of suspect in fatal Phoenix shooting

Authorities released two photos of a suspect riding a bicycle. They described the suspect as a Hispanic or Native American male. He is between 30 and 40 years old and of average build. He may have black hair, police said.

The suspect was wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front, as well as a gray hooded sweatshirt and a dark shirt. He also wore black athletic shorts and a circular pendant necklace, police said.

After shooting White, he fled the scene while riding the white bicycle northbound on 47th Avenue. The suspect was last seen in the area of ​​48th Avenue and McDowell Road.
