Elsewhere, in upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, a character will feel a sense of betrayal when his supposed friend makes advances towards his ex-girlfriend. Here are the top stories you can expect in next week’s Coronation Street….

DS Swain injury exposed

Just recently, on the sidewalk, DS Swain, played by Vicky Myers, sparked concern among viewers when she was seen struggling with an injury and nearly vomiting amid the murder of Joel Deering (Calum Lill).

And next week’s spoilers see DS Swain’s mystery exposed and explained. In the next few scenes, DS Swain’s daughter Betsy, played by Sydney Martin, walks into the bathroom and sees Lisa’s bruises, but she is unconvinced about her excuse for doing so in a hand combat class.

Meanwhile, things take a worrying turn when Betsy finds a bottle of painkillers dated September 28th. She tells Mason Radcliffe, played by Luca Toolan, and is shocked when he says Joel was killed on that date. Later, Betsy is more shaken when Daisy Midgeley, played by Charlotte Jordan, mentions that Joel got into a fight the night he was killed.

Elsewhere, it appears that Carla Connor, played by Alison King, may also be hiding something, as Ryan Connor, played by Ryan Prescott, questions whether Carla was honest about her own movements on the night in question, on which she insists she went out to turn off the factory lights.

Later in the week, Lisa lies to Betsy, claiming that her bruises were the result of an office injury. Meanwhile, Carla admits to Bobby Crawford that on the night of Joel’s murder, she went to the factory, but told the police that she stayed home all night with him and Ryan.

Elsewhere, there’s another tender moment between DS Swain and Carla, as the latter praises the police officer for her work and juggling motherhood. But when Carla places a comforting hand on her, Lisa shudders and quickly leaves, leaving Carla devastated. At the end of the week, DS Swain is furious to learn that someone has made a formal complaint against her at the police station and accuses Daisy and fellow officer Kit Green.

Platt family pump

Next week, the Platt family will rally around Gail Platt (Helen Worth) at her hospital bedside following her collapse, as tensions rise as David Platt, played by Jack P Shepherd, feels he is responsible for causing a family discussion before his mother’s hospital dash.

When Jesse Chadwick, played by John Thomson, questions David about his guilt over the latter having hidden something, he attacks him. Meanwhile, when Shona Platt, played by Julia Goulding, reveals that Jesse has returned home alone, David panics. What is he hiding and what will Jesse discover?

Elsewhere, Sarah Platt, played by Tina O’Brien, receives an arrest call from ex Damon Hay, played by Ciaran Griffiths, who explains that although her missing money caused him a beating, he has shifted the blame for stealing the money to one of his brother’s associates, leaving everyone free. However, a relieved Sarah is soon heartbroken when Damon says they must cut off all contact.

Later, Sarah informs Jesse that Damon has confirmed she is out of danger amid the missing money drama and apologizes for suspecting him of taking the money. However, it won’t be long before Jesse makes an announcement that will surprise the Platt family… what is it?

Betrayal of stones

Next week, Ryan moans to Kit over a beer that he was right to break up with Daisy, but he still misses her amid their tumultuous on-and-off romance. As Ryan lists everything Daisy wants in a partner, he doesn’t notice that a scheming Kit is taking mental notes.

Later, Daisy is surprised and delighted when Kit shows off her favorite chocolates and says he’s addicted to watching Real Housewives. This leaves Kit delighted to realize that his insider information is working.

Later in the week, Kit is back when Ryan lets it slip that Daisy’s favorite film is The Holiday, to which the police officer makes a mental note and suggests watching it for Daisy to mark her last night at the pub. However, in true soap opera style, while Kit flirts with Daisy, Ryan is shocked to learn of her betrayal and confronts Kit. How will he react?

Coronation Street continues on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV X.
