Women are being encouraged to stand in Guernsey in the 2025 general election

Shelaine Green, chair of WiPL, said: “Yes, your skills are important in decision-making, but you also bring your life experience and personal values ​​– that’s why representation is so important.”

MP Sasha Kazantseva-Miller said Guernsey needed “passionate islanders” who wanted to “make a difference”.

She said, “We make decisions that could affect my children, your children, their grandchildren for years and decades to come.”

WiPL said it would provide women considering voting access to online voting resources and in-person training.

Ms Green said: “One of the keys to getting more women to consider running is high quality and accessible information.”

“Women want to know exactly what’s going on and feel fully prepared for an effective campaign.”
