Basement laundry room fire damages all floors of Rockford home | My status line

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – A fire in a basement laundry room caused $35,000 worth of damage to a Rockford home Sunday morning.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews were called to the 6000 block of Fireside Drive around 5:25 a.m. and discovered a fire appearing in the first floor window of the home, with smoke coming from the second floor.

No one was home at the time of the fire, authorities said. The source of the fire was traced to the basement laundry room and the cause of the fire was ruled accidental.

No one was injured during the accident.
