Trump once told Arnold Palmer’s penis story in an even stranger setting: book

Former President Donald Trump made headlines over the weekend when he brought up the size of Arnold Palmer’s genitals at a rally in the late golfer’s hometown of Pennsylvania. According to a book by New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, it wasn’t the first time.

In Haberman’s 2022 book about the Republican candidate, “Confidence Man,” the journalist reported that Trump once spoke to White House guests about Palmer’s personal life before another rally in Latrobe.

“There were countless stories that attested to Trump’s lasciviousness, his indulgence in gossip, and his obsession with the appearance of others,” the book’s paperback introduction reads, according to The Independent. “In one of the most memorable moments, as he prepared to travel to Latrobe, Pennsylvania, for a rally in late 2020, Trump told Oval Office guests how he had seen hometown golf legend Arnold Palmer disrobed at Latrobe Country Club , and…”the size of his genitals.”

On Saturday, Trump spoke to an audience at the Latrobe rally for more than 10 minutes about Palmer, who died in 2016.

“Arnold Palmer was a pure man, and I say that with all due respect to women,” he said.

“When he was showering with other professionals, they came out of there. They said, ‘Oh my God.’ That’s unbelievable,” he added. “I had to say that. We have women here who are very cultured, but they used to think of Arnold as a man.”

Palmer’s daughter Peg Palmer Wears has since spoken out about the incident, saying she wasn’t upset but it was a “poor choice to remember my father.”

In a 2018 interview, she revealed that her father, a staunch conservative, was “appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he came to see as Trump’s lack of character” during his 2016 presidential campaign.
