Man, 70, killed in North Philly rowhouse fire – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police are investigating after a 70-year-old man died in a house fire in North Philadelphia late Saturday night.

According to police, the man was found Saturday evening around 10:43 p.m. after first responders responded to a fire call at a townhome along the 1600 block of Fontain Street in North Philadelphia.

Fire officials said crews were working to extinguish the fire around 11:08 p.m

However, according to law enforcement officials, firefighters discovered the body of a 70-year-old man inside the home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:10 p.m., officials said.

Police officials have not yet provided further information on the identity of the person who died, nor have they detailed what may have caused the fire.

Officials said an investigation into this incident is ongoing.
