Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff Stop at Local Black-Owned Saginaw Restaurant

After landing at MBS Freeland International Airport Friday afternoon, first lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff made a stop in Saginaw before heading to Midland for a campaign event.

The two stopped at Baldwin’s Smokehouse BBQ, a small local black-owned business, where they met local owner and pastor Roy Baldwin and his wife Evelyn.

Biden and Emhoff were joined by Michigan Board of Education President Pamela Pugh, a congressional candidate in the 8th District, and Saginaw Mayor Brenda Moore as they greeted each customer at the restaurant.

According to a Biden-Harris campaign official, under President Joe Biden’s leadership, Black business ownership is growing the fastest in 30 years.

After that stop, Emhoff and Biden visited Creative 360 in Midland to speak to a crowd of more than 100 supporters — a majority of them women — as part of the “Women for Biden-Harris” tour.
