Thiago Silva sends heartfelt message to Chelsea fans

Yesterday saw the end of the 2023/24 Premier League season and not only that, it was the end of the Blues career for a very special player.

Thiago Silva played his last match in a Chelsea shirt yesterday, at least as a player – he mentioned that he will return to the club in some capacity one day, probably as a manager since he is already making his badges.

It was an emotional moment for him and his family after the full-time whistle, with Thiago returning to the pitch to give a speech to the Chelsea fans in the stadium. He fought back tears as he spoke.

But on top of that, the veteran defender made a post online last night to offer more words to Chelsea fans.

In a four-poster in X, Silva said: “A day full of emotions. Thank you all for these incredible farewells. It’s been an exciting four years in which we’ve touched glory by winning the Champions League, but we’ve also gone through some tough times.

“We have celebrated and suffered, but always together and with your unwavering support. The strength of this great club lies in the union of all those who compose it.

“I would like to thank all my teammates, coaches, technical staff, doctors, kit men and the rest of the club workers who made my stay here unforgettable. And of course to all the Blues who supported me from the first day of my arrival.

“Unfortunately our paths part now, but I hope that in the future I can continue to help the club in other ways. My sons will continue to wear this shirt with pride and I hope they can go far. The Silva family will be forever grateful to this club and to all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Chelsea FC.”
