Two teenage prodigies shocked America with a cynical murder 100 years ago

Teenagers Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb were cruising through a leafy Chicago neighborhood on the idyllic spring afternoon of May 21, 1924, looking for a neighborhood boy to kill.

The duo was not motivated by revenge, greed, or hatred. They wanted to kill a child for the sake of it and prove to themselves that people with superior intelligence could commit murder with impunity.
